reflexology
what is oncology reflexology and how does it work?
Reflexology itself is a therapeutic practice that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears. These points correspond to different organs and systems in the body, promoting relaxation and healing. By stimulating these reflex points, reflexology aims to improve overall health and well-being, relieve stress, and enhance circulation. It is often used as a complementary therapy alongside traditional medical treatments.
Oncology Reflexology is a gentle, adapted form of reflexology for people living with or recovering from cancer.
When the body is going through or recovering from cancer treatment, it can feel more vulnerable and sensitive. Treatments are therefore approached with particular care, using gentler pressure and adapting the session to how you are feeling on the day.
How can oncology reflexology support me?
benefits during Chemotherapy
Some people find having a reflexology session before chemotherapy helps to calm the nervous system, feel more relaxed, reducing pain of cannula insertion, boosting the immune system and feeling less fatigued after.
While everyone's experience is different, creating a sense of calm beforehand can help make the overall experience feel more manageable.

what to expect at an oncology reflexology session
Before your treatment, we'll take time to talk through your current health, any treatment you are currently having or have had, and how you're feeling on the day. This allows me to adapt the treatment appropriately and work within any guidance or restrictions relevant to your care.
The session itself is gentle and unhurried. Pressure, positioning and treatment time can all be adapted depending on your energy levels, skin sensitivity and individual needs.
There is no expectation to simply 'push through' a treatment. If you need to pause, change position or stop at any point, we will.
My aim is to provide an environment where you can switch off from appointments, treatment and the demands of everyday life — even if only for a little while.
Oncology Reflexology is a complementary therapy and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure cancer. It is offered alongside, rather than as a replacement for, your medical care.
